User Comments: AIMLESS AND WEARISOME (more) What? Auf vollen Touren? The truck Didi is driving may be, but the film surely is not. The comedy never gets of the ground and successful jokes are few and far between. It perhaps could have been a mild satire on (political) corruption concerning chemical waste disposal, but now it an aimless and wearisome farce

User Comments: Molière would have approved
Louis de Funès was certainly a shoo-in for the role of the irascible, mean and greedy Harpagon. The setting is somehow bizarre, but Molière's text is scrupulously respected. Filmed theater is usually taboo among movie critics and amateurs, but this experiment is both pleasurable and successful. If you want to discover Molière, this is the movie to see.

Pas de problème! (1975) .... Jean Pierre
Directed by
Georges Lautner
Writing credits
Jean-Marie Poiré
Genre: Comedy
User Comments: A very lighthearted comedy . The hero, a succesful business man about 50 years of age, has no real problems in life("Pas de problème"). O.K., the capital of his business is the property of his wife. He also has a couple of kids and a mistress. His son of about 20 has borrowed his car and left a dead corpse in the boot of the car, which his father fails to notice when he takes back his car. Father, who is in the habit of trying to seduce every attractive female within reach, picks up a young lady, which however refuses to succumb to his charms ...until she accidentally looks into the boot of the car and sees the corpse!
This is a very lighthearted French comedy (Bible Beltians aware! This movie is NOT morally uplifting!). It is not a great movie, but quite entertaining.
There are some good gags. For instance, when the mistress runs into the holiday home of the wife and believes to shatter her entire existence by pronouncing the words "I am your husbands mistress!" To which the wife quietly replies. "Which one?"

A film company at work. Actors arrive and depart; liaisons develop. Julie, the beautiful but possibly unstable lead, is recovering from a breakdown, aided by an older physician, her new husband. Alphonse is insecure, he babbles. When his fiance exits with a stunt man, he threatens to quit. Julie must convince him to stay. Alexandre, a consummate pro on the set, runs back and forth to the airport hoping a certain young man will visit. Severine, no longer young, hits the bottle and covers blown lines with emotional outbursts. At the center is Ferrand, the writer director, who must make constant decisions, answer a stream of questions, and deliver the film on schedule.
User Comments: Clever and interesting
Day for Night is a clever film in that it takes a step back from the cameras and is a film about a film. Whereas the Mousetrap in Hamlet was a relatively minor plot device, in Day for Night, Meet Mabel and its creation is the film. We see Truffaut as a director and actors as actors, with Truffaut's 'character' trying to cope with the troubled production of his film. As with Truffaut's other pictures there is a hint of the autobiographical, with various incidents drawn from his own experience. This film not only works at the two levels, but also on a number of others, and is both interesting drama, as well as being of interest for showing what goes on behind the cameras. A must for all those who want to be in the movies.

User Comments: A feast of a movie.
This film about four men and one woman who enjoy a weekend of eating and sex is warm, funny and also sad.
